It's starting to get cooler (fingers crossed!). The leaves are beginning to come off the trees. I guess that means it's time for an updated Go Ask Mom Halloween and Fall Fun Guide!

The database lists nearly 100 pumpkin patches, haunted houses, hayrides, corn mazes and more across the region. (A big note: The database does not work on mobile devices). I'll be chatting about the database on WRAL-TV's morning news on Fox 50 around 8:30 a.m. or so, Wednesday.

Some of the pumpkin patches and corn mazes open as early as this weekend. They include Hill Ridge Farm in Youngsville, Ken's Korny Corn Maze in Garner and Hubb's Corn Maze in Clinton. Many more will open up over the last couple of weekends in September. And then we have the haunted houses and trails (the database includes age recommendations for all of the events).

Some patches and trails haven't updated their plans yet for the fall. I'll be updating the database over the next several weeks.
