FAIRVIEW PARK, OH — Police in Fairview Park say a woman faked a kidnapping to get money from her family.

According to police, a woman called last week and reported that her 30-year-old daughter was kidnapped for an $80 ransom.

Officers later found her daughter walking down Lorain Road.

When police stopped her, they found out she made the whole thing up to try to get money from her family.

"It became pretty obvious she was lying and was just trying to get some money from her mother," said Lt. Paul Shepard. "So she was charged with inducing panic and obstructing official business."
