Facebook briefly unfriends East Coast

Facebook, the go-to website and app for millions, was offline for about 45 minutes Thursday afternoon.

The bulk of the outages were concentrated in the northeastern United States and western Europe, according to downdetector.com, which monitors up time of major apps and websites.

Reports began to trickle in and Facebook posted an error message at about 12:20 p.m. By 1 p.m., users were back to sharing and liking.

    My grandson was trying to post some "dank memes" and it kept telling him to enter his credit card number.

    Has Cary NC been moved to the northeast now? That certainly explains a lot of the local accents!

    That's it? That's the only explanation? It's offline? Obviously we can see that. Is there any word as to what is wrong and when it'll be fixed?
