RALEIGH, N.C. — A former Wake County detention officer was sentenced Monday to 18 to 24 months in prison after pleading guilty to supplying drugs to an inmate.

Timothy Maurice Bullock, 26, of 701 S. Main St. in Holly Springs, pleaded guilty to three counts each of providing a controlled substance to an inmate, selling marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, delivery of marijuana and conspiracy to sell marijuana.

Bullock brought marijuana, a cell phone and a knife to the jail last spring and gave them to an inmate in exchange for $1,000, authorities said.

He resigned as a detention officer in April 2009.
