Etheridge and Price to talk health care with state employees

Posted August 12, 2009

Democratic Congressmen Bob Etheridge and David Price will meet with state employees this week to discuss health insurance reform.

Etheridge has scheduled an event in Lillington Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Central Carolina Community College Multipurpose Building on N.C. Highway 421. Price will appear in Durham Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at the Miller Morgan Building on the campus of North Carolina Central University, 528 Nelson St.

Both forums are being hosted by State Employees Association of North Carolina. "State employees are concerned about health care," said Dana Cope, SEANC executive director. "Health insurance reform is ... vital to the well-being of all citizens."

Try to email Price, he always mails back canned response letter,
never ever tells you how he stands on the issue you wrote about.

Ohhhhh, Sidekick, you couldn't possibly be more wrong!

And state gov't employees is the safest audience for these cowards to speak to. The majority of state workers are liberals that will do anything the democratic leadership tells them to do.

Etheridge already held a meeting, last Saturday. At the democratic office. It was a breakfast and there was only one person who had any opposition to the health reform plan. It was 'open to the public' but I challenge anyone to tell me where the time and place was posted prior to that meeting as well. SEANC

whocares - Obama's press secretary explained about the gun issue and the police were fully aware of the situation. the man posed no threat.

SEANC is a joke. They had 10 people show up to "support" the Obama plan. Most state employees don't join b/c they don't agree with these guys. Worthless organization that does nothing right

What's happening to state employees is humiliating. I, at one time was very proud to be a state employee. Now I'm almost embarrassed. Yet I stay because I help provide a very necessary service to the public...which is what I signed on to do in the first place. History proves that attempts to balance the budget are always made at our expense. Before cuts are made anywhere else the state employees are always robbed first, with the exception of teachers, who have been reaping nothing but rewards for years. Now they're crying because some of the dirt has finally gotten on them. I don't want to hear it!! Just read some of the posts here and look at the lack of spelling and punctuation (mine isn't great..but at least I USE it!). Just what are our well paid and protected teachers teaching? Now our health care has gone totally south and there isn't a bandaid large enough to cover the "cut". I've had to stop taking a drug that controls my debilitating disease as I can't afford it.
