Escaped Wake County juvenile taken into custody

A juvenile who escaped secure custody on Dec. 21 has been apprehended.

Raleigh police search for juvenile who escaped custody
RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wake County juvenile who escaped secure custody on Dec. 21 from the Wake County Courthouse has been apprehended, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Deputies from the Wake County Sheriff's Office took Calvin R. back into custody shortly before 2 a.m. on Dec. 29. The Garner and Raleigh police departments assisted in the eight-day search.

In a Dec. 21 news release, the NCDPS said the juvenile had a prior history of unpredictable behavior and expressed concern for the safety of him and the public.
