Benson Police Search For Escaped Georgia Inmate
DUNN — The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Dunn police caught an escapee from Georgia Thursday at a motel in Dunn.

Timothy Sutton, 37, was serving a six-year sentence for burglary and breaking and entering. He escaped from a correctional facility in Toombs County, Ga., on June 4, authorities said.

The investigation led officials to look in the Dunn area, where they found Sutton staying at an Econolodge Motel on East Broad Street. Under surveillance, he was spotted leaving the motel and then returning. That’s when authorities went in and found him hiding under a bed, they said.

Sutton was taken into custody without incident, officials said. He was scheduled to have his first appearance in Harnett County Court at 9 a.m. Friday and then be transported back to Georgia.
