DURHAM, N.C. — Jerry Seinfeld is coming to Durham.

The comedian and former TV sitcom star will make a stop at the Durham Performing Arts Center Feb. 12 as part of his national comedy tour.

Tickets, starting at $47, go on sale through Ticketmaster outlets to the general public Friday, Oct. 29, at 10 a.m.

“We have been looking forward to having comedian favorite Jerry Seinfeld at DPAC for many months, and it is great to add this sure-to-be-unforgettable show to our fantastic 2011 events coming this season,” DPAC General Manager Bob Klaus said.

Seinfeld, 56, was the star of the long-running successful sitcom of the same name.

After it ended in 1998, the actor returned to stand-up comedy but has made cameo appearances on a number of TV shows, including “Saturday Night Live,” “30 Rock” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

In 2008, he lent his voice to the animated “Bee Movie.”

This year, he returned to TV as an executive producer on “The Marriage Ref,” and he has occasionally appeared on the show.

He’s also directing a one-man Broadway stage show, “Long Story Short,” which stars comedian Colin Quinn.
