Raleigh, N.C. — Vendors at the State Fair spend their off time nearby – living in mobile homes just outside the gates.
“It’s probably more like a town,” Dennis Fraleigh said. “This is where I work and live.”
Fraleigh is one 100 workers from around the country living in mobile homes at the campgrounds outside of Gate 9. Some homes are up to 60 feet long.
Public Safety Officer Maj. Melvin Lefler said the space each mobile home occupies costs about $25.
Fraleigh lives with wife, Susan, in a unit that has a shower, Jacuzzi tub and satellite television.
“Yeah, it’s definitely comfortable,” Susan Fraleigh said.
Dennis Fraleigh said the home is “like a condo on wheels.”
