GREENSBORO, N.C. — Janet Jackson postponed her concert at the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday due to illness, according to a statement released by W&W Public Relations.
Jackson has also postponed a Sunday show in Atlanta and a Tuesday performance in Fort Lauderdale.

The 42-year-old singer became "suddenly ill" and was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital on Monday night shortly before her scheduled concert in Montreal, which was canceled. A spokeswoman for the facility said Jackson was released two hours after she arrived. It is still not clear why she was admitted.

Jackson's shows in Boston and Philadelphia on Wednesday and Thursday were postponed and she was due to resume her tour in Greensboro.

Officials said Jackson arrived in Greensboro hoping to perform in an effort not to disappoint her fans.

“However, after arriving at the Coliseum it became evident she had not fully recovered. A local doctor advised that she not perform this evening,” Kitara Garner, of W&W Public Relations, said in a press release.

Ticketholders are encouraged to hold on to their tickets pending a future announcement regarding the rescheduled date.

Patrons wanting a refund may do so starting Monday at their respective point of purchase.
