RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina State Fair can be enjoyed at any age, but it's something really special when viewed through the eyes of a child.

Hannah Cowell, 5, was at the fair Friday for the second time in her short life and she was ready for adventure.

"I like playing the fishing game and that's my favorite thing to do at the fair," Hannah said.

She's good at it, too. She showed off an armful of prizes that she won by getting three sharks on a hook.

After the games, children can twirl and spin through the night on the fair's 109 midway rides. There's plenty of food to fill little tummies and lights and sights to delight little eyes.

When Hannah headed home Friday night, she couldn't help celebrating her big wins at the fair. What is she going to do with all her prizes?

She likes to sleep with the stuffed animals, she said, and dream of next year's trip to the fair.
