Birthday Quiz: Don't Age Around Here No More

One of rock's weirdest celebrates today.

Tom Petty (58 today) is a pretty huge star in the subgenre of Respectable Rock, taking up some indefinable space between Billy Joel and Bob Dylan. (I'm not sure precisely what I mean by that, but it definitely means something.) His "Greatest Hits," released in 1993, and "Wildflowers," released in 1994, were a devastating one-two punch to ... um ... someone, probably. (Sometimes I get tripped up by my own rhetoric. This blurb isn't going well, is it?) Plus, in my beloved "History of Rock" series of documentaries, Tom provided the funniest, most deadpan comments possible. What's his backing band called?
