Remember when Jerry Lewis (81 today) said, with a straight face, that he couldn't cotton to female comedians because he saw them as "baby-producing machines"? Well, I suppose we should let it slide, given the cultural milestones ("The Nutty Professor," "Cinderfella") that he has contributed to the American artistic canon. And, in all seriousness, the Jerry Lewis telethon has done wonders for MD, and has pioneered a new genre of fundraising. Who was his comedy partner back in the day?
