First of all, a little bit of trivia on "The Rifleman" ... Leonid Brezhnev of Russia, when coming to the U.S. in the early '70s, was asked who he most wanted to meet. His response was Chuck Connors of The Rifleman. This was one of the few American shows that could be seen in Russia at the time. So the White House invited Chuck Connors during Brezhnev's stay and they actually became good friends, with Chuck Connors visiting Russia on several occasions thereafter.
