Raleigh now has a rare and exciting Gourmet Cheeses and Charcuterie... with your help!
Cheese can be a lot of fun! Like Forrest Gump would say about his box of chocolates- "you never know what you're gonna get". To us, cheese is the same way. You might get one that tastes nutty, one that is sweet, and even one that has hints of caramel. We started Six Forks Cheese to bring some of the most unique cheeses from around the world (and right here in our own NC backyard!) straight to your table in Raleigh.
What's different about Six Forks Cheese? We're going to bring some great cheeses to town! Some will be from Spain, some from Italy, Switzerland, France and yes, definitely some from North Carolina! We're talking about the kind of tasty fromages you can't find at your local grocery and we're going to cut it straight from the wheel right in front of you. It doesn't get fresher than that unless you go straight to the creamery. And speaking about creameries, we plan to place a special focus on local, small-batch and farmstead cheeses from North Carolina. You may not realize it, but there are dozens of top-notch cheese makers right here in NC like Chapel Hill Creamery, Goat Lady Dairy, Looking Glass, Spinning Spider, Cultured Cow and more! We will also offer a full line of unique and delectable meats, relishes, accoutrements and charcuterie.
Who are we? There are four of us working together to make this happen: Matt, Jacey, Sasha and Paul. Sasha is a certified cheesemonger who works full-time for a cheese importer and distributor and has helped us with many of our wonderful cheese selections. Matt is in charge of marketing the store and making sure everything looks good. Jacey and Paul will be running the shop on a day-to-day basis along with a few of our great friends. Jacey will also be in charge of the overall company and operations (aka the boss!).
We are located directly next to Novel Tea (on the corner where the Eiffel Tower miniature is). Our shop is small, but that will let us fill it to the ceiling with great cheese! Look for our black storefront that says "Cheese Shop" on it in the months to come! We picked this location because we really liked the gourmet foodie-centric vibe and felt it had easy access from most points North of the city. Plus the French open-air themed environment really felt different than most centers.
