Two words: Caribbean Food! Need I say more?!
Come and experience the food concept behind the up and coming restaurant Amalie(a) by chef Lemar Farrington. This pop-up dinner event will be hosted inside Kimbap cafe in downtown Raleigh and will feature a 6 course tasting menu featuring all Caribbean ingredients, some traditional and some new, presented with a refined approach endeavoring to elevate and celebrate Caribbean cuisine like any other.
Here is a glimpse of the menu:
- Callaloo served with a salt pork terrine, lump crab, seared okra, coconut milk, smoked scotch bonnet oil
- Fish and Fungi- snapper with leek+herb fungi, vadouvan curry broth, 'pepper sauce'
- Banana fritters with banana caramel, salt, and bread fruit
- Rice pudding custard- 2 types of mango, golden raisins, cherimoya
This event will be hosted in two seatings, one at 6pm and the other at 8:30 pm. You have a choice to come when you would like and enjoy this new and vibrant experience. Dress is casual chic and an open mind. We also want to mention that water and punch will be served but alcohol and beer is on a BYO basis. Tickets are set at $80 which includes the meal, taxes/fees and gratuity so no need to feel obligated to tip unless you'd like.
