The Latino Community Festival returns to Fayetteville
Saturday, August 5, 2017

(Fayetteville, N.C.) - Fayetteville the Latino Community Festival will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, 2:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. in Festival Park located in downtown Fayetteville. Co-hosted by Latino Community Connects, Renew Counseling Center of Fayetteville & Kameo Events NC.

The festival will be filled with traditional and contemporary Hispanic dance, lively music performances, local Hispanic art & craft exhibits, authentic Hispanic foods from many different nations, giveaways and more.

A very special children's area will feature an inflatable fun zone, climbing wall, hands on arts & crafts, meet & greet opportunity from our local semi-professional sports teams, a back to school supply zone, popcorn, cotton candy, and visits from your favorite local mascots.

There will be local family agencies sharing information about the essential services Fayetteville has to offer our increasing Hispanic population. Local representatives from the American Red Cross, Cumberland County Library will be on hand, as well as, agencies offering dental, medical, education benefits, mental health services, Hispanic Ministries, Church groups and many more.

This event is important to Fayetteville, as the rapidly growing Hispanic population, Hispanic owned businesses, military retirees, and their families join our community. According to the N.C. Governor's website, Cumberland County's population grew from 13,298 in 1990 to 30,190 in 2010; the Latino purchasing power increased from 2000 to 2010 by about 40 percent, compared to 16 percent for the U.S. overall.

Latino Community Connects, established in serves as a bridge between organizations, professionals, and agencies with the specific needs of the Latino community.
