Now that October is here, it's time to start thinking about all things spooky and creepy for Halloween. To kick it off, there will be a Zombie Bar Raid this Saturday, Oct. 6, from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. in downtown Raleigh.

If you need help coming up with a killer costume, stylists from Head 2 Toe Boutique will be at Tir na nOg from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For "basic" zombie makeup they charge $25, but $50 gets you prosthetic add-ons as well. Come dressed in your zombie best!

Participating bars – Tir na nOg, The Pour House, Rum Runners and The London Bridge Pub – will have drink specials and live entertainment.
While this bar raid is a fun and unique event, it also is a fundraiser for 6-year-old Cuyler Buchanan, who is fighting a form of childhood cancer. Part of the proceeds will go to Cuyler and his family to help pay for medical bills. Tir na nOg is hosting a concert for Cuyler that night as well.

Tickets for the Zombie Bar Raid are $30.
