Jill Santa Lucia isn't just the owner of a catering company. The chef's making an impression nationally with her innovative, healthy and delicious concoctions.
Lucia represented Raleigh and her company, Catering Works, at U.S. Food Group's "Next Top Product" competition last week. There were 30 finalists competing for the grand prize, three of which advanced to compete in Chicago. Lucia represented the "dessert" category with her healthy alternative to traditional cheesecake.
The Mini Bak Cheesecake uses Greek yogurt and was served in mini jam jars, topped with various extras. Lucia decided to put this dessert on her menu – we think that's a good idea; it looks pretty delicious to us!
The competition was based on votes collected through Facebook.
