Stampede through Raleigh in this 'Amazing Race'-style event

Posted August 31, 2012

Race the City, a competition modeled on the TV show "The Amazing Race," will be held in Raleigh on Saturday, Sept. 29. The proceeds will benefit Helping Horse, a non-profit equine therapy program that provides riding lessons to children and adults with disabilities.

Teams must solve puzzles and challenges in the correct order to win the race. Each team should be made up of four people (two males and two females), but if you are part of a pair, the event organizers can match you up with another pair.

Registration is open now, and is only $15 per person. First place winners will receive four UNC basketball tickets, four Hurricanes tickets, four free rounds of golf and a cash prize.

The competition starts at 10:00 a.m. at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. Wear your running shoes and a team uniform!
