The three-day Labor Day holiday weekend is upon us.

We know a lot of you are heading to the beach, so make sure to check out our beach guide for restaurant suggestions and more.

If you are sticking around the Triangle this weekend, we have you covered. Here are our picks for weekend fun:

Splash Bash will be held in front of Isaac Hunter's in Raleigh on Sept. 1, 2012.

Splash Bash
If you are looking for some watery fun closer to home, Splash Bash is being held on Fayetteville Street in front of Isaac Hunter’s Oak City Tavern in Raleigh on Saturday. Starting at noon, there will be water slides, a dunk tank and live music. The proceeds for the event are going to help a local man diagnosed with neuropathy and MS. Everything kicks off at noon and will run until about 10 p.m. Admission is free.
The African American Cultural Festival, which is being held this weekend in downtown Raleigh, features art exhibits.

African American Cultural Festival
Raleigh City Plaza will host the African American Cultural Festival this weekend. This family-friendly celebration will include visual arts, food vendors, crafts and live music. Admission is free. Everything kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m.

The American Meltdown food truck was on hand for this special cheese edition of the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market.

Durham food truck rodeo

If food trucks are your thing, head over to Durham Central Park on Sunday for a huge food truck rodeo. There will be about 45 trucks and carts, in addition to live music. The event kicks off at 12:30 p.m.

Durham Symphony Orchestra

The Duke Symphony Orchestra will open its 2012-2013 season on Sunday with a free concert featuring music from Broadway and popular movies, as well as lighter works by American composers and patriotic fare. This outdoor show is happening at Duke University’s East Campus main quad in front of Baldwin Auditorium. If it rains, the show will be canceled.
