After I selected my Five Fave farmers markets last month, I got an email invite from the folks at the Western Wake Farmers Market to come check it out.
What I found was a vibrant community enjoying fresh coffee from Muddy Dog Roasting Company and grooving to the live music that accompanied a summer Saturday morning.
Western Wake has the staples – seasonal fruits and veggies, artisan cheese and breads, select seafood and small-batch sausages – and offers surprises to shoppers as well. You can carry home your finds in a hand-woven basket from Rabbitpatch, grab some homemade, fresh snacks for Fido from Good Graces and even get a prepared dinner of Melina's Fresh Pasta.

The market serves Morrisville and Cary near the intersection of Morrisville Carpenter Road and Davis Drive. It's open year-round on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, and Tuesday afternoons in the summer from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
