Out and About has some great picks for fun in the Triangle this weekend.

The Jimmy V. Golf Tournament is truly a "classic."

Jimmy V Celeb Golf Classic

The 19th annual Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic is taking over the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at N.C. State on Sunday starting at 9:30 a.m. Celebrities including Garner native and “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery and NBA star Charles Barkley will be hitting the links to help raise money for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. Tickets to view Sunday’s action are just $5 each and available through the Golf Classic’s website. Check Out and About and WRALSportsFan this weekend for coverage of the event.

Live Music

If you are looking to hear some live music over the weekend you have several options. Our Best Bets this week are both on Friday night.

First, US will be performing as part of the Midtown Emerging Artist Series at North Hills in Raleigh. The band was recently signed by Sony and are currently making their way up the iTunes pop chart.

Their video for "Missin' You Like Crazy" currently has more than 1 million views on YouTube (and the song is currently stuck in my head).

The show is from 6-8 p.m. outside of the World of Beer.

If you are in the mood to hear some country music, superstar Brad Paisley will play the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek in Raleigh Friday night. He has been touring with Idol winner Scotty McCreery, but for this show he is being joined by Easton Corbin and The Band Perry. Tickets are still available.

Admission is free and the party lasts from 1-8 p.m. Some event highlights include a masquerader of the year competition, a Zumba party and children’s face painting and storytelling.
Lazy Daze in Cary, N.C. (24)

Cary’s Lazy Daze

Also on Saturday, the 36th Annual Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival is being held in downtown Cary. From a beer garden to a chainsaw sculpting competition, the event will have something for everyone. There will also be activities for the kids, including clowns, crafts and magic. Admission is free. The event runs form 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Video Game Conference

The Major League Gaming Summer Championship is being held at the Raleigh Convention Center this weekend. Gamers will be battling it out for nearly $215,000 in prizes. Watch the action and check out the latest tech and video game products and new video games. Spectator tickets are $35 for the weekend.
