Caribbean carnival planned Saturday in downtown Raleigh

CaribMask is holding a Caribbean Carnival in downtown Raleigh this Saturday from 1-8 p.m. featuring live music, dancing and cuisine.

Our good friend WRAL's Ken Smith tipped of off about this event. Smith was born on the Island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and grew up on the Island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

CaribMask is holding a Caribbean Carnival in downtown Raleigh this Saturday from 1-8 p.m. featuring live music, dancing and cuisine. 

Some event highlights: 

  • The Masquerader of the Year competition is at 3 p.m. Throw on an old costume and get out there and compete! 
  • A Zumba lesson along Fayetteville Street at 7 p.m. 
  • For the children, face painting, storytelling, crafts and more.

Admission is free.
