Tweet Up, Hot Wings challenge Wednesday at Buffalo Bros.

Join the WRAL Out & About gang on Wednesday for our second Tweet Up, Meet Up and Eat Up!

This time we will be meeting at Buffalo Brothers Pizza and Wings Co. on Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh starting at 6 p.m.

In addition to the Tweet Up, we will be watching the latest rendition of the Buffalo Bros. Ludicrous Wing Challenge at 7 p.m. The contestant who eats 10 hot wings in 15 minutes or less first wins free wings from Buffalo Brothers for one year. All contestants will receive a Wing Challenge T-shirt, courtesy of Buffalo Brothers.

If you want to compete in the Buffalo Bros. Wing Challenge, make sure you read the waiver and bring a signed copy to the event. Space is limited. If you plan to participate in the challenge, email OutandAbout@wral.com so we can get your details for our feature on the event!

Everyone who RSVPs to the Tweet Up in advance on Eventbrite will receive a $5 Buffalo Brothers gift card, valid on Wednesday, Aug. 8 only. Just make sure you print your registration confirmation that will be provided via email and bring it to the event.

Join us on the patio to cheer on those contestants who aren't afraid of a little heat with their wings!

Buffalo Brothers has another location on Capital Blvd and will be opening a third Triangle location this fall at 11735 Retail Drive in Wake Forest where the old Texas Steakhouse was located. The new restaurant will feature seating for 300, an indoor/outdoor patio area, upper mezzanine area with seating for 50, and more than 40 beers on tap!

As a lover of spicy stuff and a veteran of several wing challenges (BWW's Blazin' Challenge, East Coast Wings' Insanity Wing, etc) I can say that the Buffalo Bros' Ludicrous wings are the worst (hottest) I've ever had. While I managed to force down 10 in 15 minutes (the normal challenge) I seriously considered giving up after the fourth wing. I had the shakes for about an hour after I was finished. It took me two days for my digestive system to recover. At least I got a tshirt and my picture on the wall!

THe only winners and yes there will be many more than one top winner. Its the free t-shirt winners. The free for a year wings bozo will just have a over fired gut and bragging rights to gluttony. Hope he or she enjoys them often for the next free year. The yo-yos at wingos even know something is very wrong here to even sugest a wavier signing form. There was a woman 17 years ago on a radio show who entered a water drinking contest and died of water intoxication. She even complained at the time of a headache and a doctor called into the show and explained the dangers to the radio show. Thier awnser was so what, we have insurance ya know. The lady was trying to win a few hundred bucks to send to her daughter in college. But the real winners here will be the Buffalo Bros. Free t-shirt indeed! Oh please! Thats even richer than thier sauce. Free for a year is just like all you can eat babble, they get tired of it and short change the curtiosy. Sometimes make or ask you to leave even.

The waiver is only needed for the Ludicrous wing contestants. Buffalo Bros. mild and other not so hot wings are really tasty! I think I will be eating some of those on Wednesday!
