Dairy Queen is celebrating its annual Miracle Treat Day on Thursday. For just that day, proceeds from the purchase of their famous Blizzard soft serve creations will help benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
The money will go to children in the community where the money is raised.
The amount donated varies at each location with at least $1 from each Blizzard sale going to charity. However, at the Walnut Street Cary location, 100 percent of the proceeds from every Blizzard purchased on Thursday will go to Duke Children's Hospital, DQ owner Andrew Valkanoff said.
We paid Valkanoff a visit at the Dairy Queen this week and learned all about Miracle Treat Day and the secrets behind making a Blizzard.
The official Miracle Treat Day website has a list of participating locations in the Triangle. I can't think of a better excuse to buy a Blizzard...
What is your favorite Blizzard mix-in?
