Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week planned for August

Published: 2012-07-23 12:36:42
Updated: 2012-07-23 12:36:42

The fourth annual Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week will be held Aug. 20-26, the Downtown Raleigh Alliance announced Monday.

During the event, participating venues will be offering three-course prix fixe dinners for $20 or $30 per person (tax and tip not included). As with last year, there will also be three-course beer or wine pairings for an additional $10 per person at select venues.

New this year, some restaurants will be offering $15 appetizer samplers. The samplers will feature three appetizers.

Similar to Triangle Restaurant Week, no tickets or coupons are required. Reservations are recommended, and most of those can be made online through OpenTable.com. The specials will be available during each participating venue's normal dinner hours.

For menus and prices, check out the Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week website.

Prix Fixe is such a ripoff. Don't bother having a "restaurant week" if you're going to serve up menu items no one wants at twice the price.

And sometimes it's nice to have a date night and not spend $100 for a meal. Sorry that some people can't appreciate that. Others do.

Goes to show you people have more money to waste than they have brains! A good family meal at home is worth much more and is much better than what some of these meals cost.

Will the Mint be included? Oh that's right the taxpayer subsidized restaurant went out of business.

Stormy-Triangle Restaurant Week was packed. I don't think the restaurants need luck. They do just fine.
