Last night, Durham designers made their mark on the fashion world at the reFashioned event held at Motorco.
Five fashion designers, three local graphic-print and T-shirt designers and four local DJs entertained a packed house.
DJ Nerve provided the night's soundtrack, while The Real Laww hosted the event, which proved to be far from a traditional fashion show.
The Real Laww was charming, funny and entertaining as he described the outfits and designers as they took the stage.
As the lights went down and the music went up, the styles of local graphic-print and t-shirt designers first hit the runway. The designers included Headfirst, Johnny Swank, Nyla Elise Fashion and Runaway Clothes. Each designer has a different style, but they focused on keeping it local. Whether it was the “919 y'all” style of Johnny Swank or the shirts featuring a bull by Runaway clothing, all the designers made sure to represent.
Work from local fashion designers Belindabilly, First Edition, Gypsy Witch, Jen Jen, Rocket Betty and Symbology soon took the stage. Each offered different visions – definitely fashion to suit anyone and everyone's style.
Following the runway shows, DJ Queen Plz and DJ Birdgherl kept the party going into the late hours of the night.
Overall a great night for local fashion in Durham.
