The show follows the story of Albert and his horse, Joey, who is sold to the cavalry and shipped from England to France at the start of World War I. Joey is soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary journey, before he finds himself alone in no man's land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.
