From Stormfest to chili challenges, the Triangle has a busy Father's Day weekend ahead.

There are lots of cool things happening in the Triangle this weekend! 

Inventors, artists and scientists from North Carolina will be showing off their creators at the Maker Faire on Saturday at the Kerr Scott Building at the State Fairgrounds. This family-friendly event includes everything from homemade cookies to homemade robots! Some of this year’s highlights include a space exhibit and a battle royale beteween the Carolina Combat Robots! Tickets are $10 for adults 18 and over and $5 for those 7 to 17 and students with a valid ID. Children 6 and under get in free.
Calling all weather junkies, WRAL meteorologists will be on hand this Saturday at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh for Stormfest. The annual event gives you in the inside scoop on weather, natural disasters and emergency response services. In addition to getting to pick the brains of our meteorologists, also enjoy free showings of Tornado Alley in 3D – the film is back for one day only! Admission is the entire event is free!
If you are in Durham and craving chili, Durham Central Park is hosting the annual Bull City Chili Challenge on Saturday. Head over to sample some of the creations competing to be named the Best Chili in the Triangle.
If you are in the mood for music, the American Tobacco Campus in Durham is hosting two days of tunes as part of their Music on the Lawn series. On Friday, check out Adam Hurt, Stephanie Coleman and Beth Williams Hartness. Music starts at 6 p.m., so bring out your lawn chairs and blankets. Sunday's Pops for Pops show will help honor dad. The free evening of music starts at 5 p.m. and will include the Durham Community Concert Band. The band’s repertoire includes marches, classical, patriotic, Broadway. They will be joined by the Durham Jazz orchestra.
