On Tuesday night, HighSchoolOT's Nick Stevens and 99 TheFan's Joe Ovies will be among five competitors taking on the 24-inch pizza challenge at Ruckus in Cary. But what does this challenge really entail?
I stopped by Ruckus on Thursday to find out.
The rules are simple: Eat a 24-inch pizza with two meat toppings and two veggie toppings within an hour. Oh and you don't get bathroom breaks because they don't want you in the restroom vomiting to make room for more pizza. Gross, but had to be said.
The head chef gave us one piece of advice about taking on the challenge: Eat a lot to help stretch your stomach in the days before the challenge.
Of the more than 100 people who have tried, only a handful have completed the challenge. Those who complete the pizza get a $100 gift card, T-shirt and bragging rights. The losers walk away with a $10 gift card and a bill for the $23 pizza.
Find out more about this pizza, which weighs in at more than 5 lbs, in the video below.
Make sure to come out to Ruckus on Tuesday to watch the challenge during Out and About's Tweet Up Eat Up Meet Up.
RSVP for the event and get a free appetizer.
