Beer and Bourbon festival planned for August in Cary

Tickets go on sale this week for the annual feast of booze and pork that is the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival at Cary's Koka Booth Amphitheatre.

Spend a summer afternoon sipping at the annual southern feast that is the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival at Cary's Koka Booth Amphitheatre.

The event is Saturday, Aug. 4 and tickets go on sale this Friday, June 8. Get them now, because this event has sold out in the past.

Admission buys you a souvenir glass and all the samples you desire of 60 beers and 40 bourbons. Food from a variety of barbecue vendors is available for sale.

Listen to great live music and learn about how your favorites are brewed to sipping perfection. 

There are contests for girls – Miss BBQ Babe – and guys – Best Beer Belly.

A limited number of VIP tickets are available for Friday night, which includes a full barbecue dinner ($55) and for both Friday and Saturday (the Grand Poobah, $75).
