Shake your booty, lose weight!

Belly, lap and pole dancing classes help you feel sexy and get healthy.

Are you ready to shake what your mama gave ya? 

The Jane Fonda-era of aerobics is a thing of the past. Women are losing weight now through classes like salsa dancing and Zumba. (I am a huge fan of Zumba and I lost a lot of weight doing it. You shake a lot, so you know you are burning calories!) 

But there are other classes available for women that combine sexy moves.

These are two places I heard about: 

Turn Me Loose Fitness in Raleigh offers beginner pole dancing and more advanced classes. Their hybrid classes include pilates and pole dancing and "Chair to Pole," which combines modern burlesque, hip hop and chair work, in addition to pole dancing. 

But their most popular class right now is "Twerk It," which teaches the art of booty shaking. Owner Cassandra Wycko said the group fitness class teaches booty popping, shimming and wiggling all to fun hip-hop music . She said the hour-long classes burn between 600 and 900 calories. 

For those feeling a little less adventurous, they do offer Zumba, regular pilates and burlesque. 

Classes there are $12 each and packages are available. They are currently offering a deal of 10 classes for $49. 

Aradia Fitness in Cary offers seven different levels of pole dance classes. For those not ready to tackle the pole, they have "Sexy Fit" classes that include Zumba, lap dance, yoga-fusion and boot-camps. A basic pole dancing package will run you about $80 and include four classes taken once a week within a month. 

Both businesses do parties - birthday or bachelorette! 

Some nice alternatives to stay healthy and sexy!
