Out & About will be literally just that this weekend. There are tons of great events going on in the Triangle and we are attempting to hit as many as possible. Look for our bloggers and photographers at these locations:
The Nature Research Center's 24-hour grand opening - Activities are going on from 4 p.m. Friday until 4 p.m. Saturday. Take a stroll through the museum, grab a bite to eat at the Daily Planet Cafe or at local food trucks outside, then prepare for live music and entertainment outside. Look for our photographers, bloggers and WRAL-TV talent who will be out there covering the opening.
We will be listening to aspiring singers during Fox 50's X Factor auditions Saturday at Crabtree Valley Mall. Four lucky singers or groups will be selected to win guaranteed auditions in Greensboro during the national auditions on May 1. You must be a minimum of 12 years old to enter. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at Crabtree. Look for our tweets and blogposts. (Follow the hashtag #XFactorRaleigh on twitter for updates.)
WRAL reporter Tara Lynn and her dog, Baxter, will be emcees for the SPCA of Wake County's K9-3K on Saturday in Moore Square in Raleigh. We profiled them this week. Help raise money for homeless pets by walking or donating to the cause. Look for our photographer out there and pose with your pet!
Barbecue and bluegrass are on the menu for The Pit's fourth annual Cuegrass Festival on Saturday. Look for our cameras capturing all the music, food and fun. Tickets are $5 and proceeds go to North Carolina 4H.
So, what are your weekend plans?
