Summer is just around the corner and the days of wearing close-toed shoes are quickly coming to an end. As you bring out your summer attire you may notice that some of your flip flops are worn out or don’t fit anymore. The only thing to do with the old flops is to toss them in the trash, right?

But what if you bought a pair of flip flops that can do something for the environment even after you no longer have use for them? What if you could bury them in your garden, use them as a doorstop, chop them up and toss them in worm compost bins, or send them to another country to create new jobs and revenue?

With this vision in mind, Feelgoodz and Kinder Soles, two environmentally and socially conscious flip flop companies, have merged to enhance their global impact one 100 percent biodegradable flip flop at a time.

Kyle Berner and Mark Saad were running their own flip flop businesses when they realized that their career aspirations of creating positive social change coincided with one another. The flip flop companies will operate under the name Feelgoodz - and this name could not describe these sandals any better.

All of their flip flops are 100 percent eco-friendly, natural rubber sandals that are highly compressed for pillow-soft comfort. They are all natural and made with non-toxic dyes. With straps and soles that stretch and move to conform to your feet, they are made for everyday relaxation and perfect for people of all ages.

On March 23, Feelgoodz opened a design studio and store in the heart of downtown Raleigh at 206 S. Wilmington St. next to Stitch. To find out more about Feelgoodz connect with them on Facebook and Twitter or stop in and shop around at their brand new store.

I stopped in the other day and picked up a pair that I love! They will set you back about $25, which is almost half the price of another national brand of flip flops that we have all come to know and love.
