Kiss, Motley Crue headed to Raleigh this summer

Posted March 21, 2012

It is the ultimate rock show. Kiss and Motley Crue are going on tour this summer, and they are stopping in Raleigh.

The bands will play the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion at Walnut Creek on July 22. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through Live Nation, Ticketmaster, the venue box office and select Walmart locations.

Quick: Favorite Kiss or Motley Crue song?

I love "Detroit Rock City" and for Motley Crue, I basically just enjoy seeing Tommy Lee play the drums upside down (one of his famous moves).

Alligator was kinda poor sound quality but after that, the mix was better. The train came in through Gloria and near the end of Set 2.

Hooray, another geezer tour/concert. C'mon Walnut Creek, we're way over due for some fresh talent. And besides, I'm sure there's a high risk factor for heart attacks and broken hips with the current lineup. LOL!

I was back by the lawn too....Everyone I was with said the same thing...Do remember when the train came by and drowned out the band?
Saw Bobby & Ratdog back on in 07 on 11/11 at Progress Energy Center and they blow the place down!!!! Great show....Heading to Phish in Va. Beach in June.

I went to my very first rock concert back in ’78, I was only in the eighth grade. It was a life-changing event and the band was KIS, who were on their Alive II tour.

I have many favorite KISS songs, but a couple of under-rated songs that come to mind are Black Diamond and the radio-friendly Hard Luck Woman.

I am also a huge Crue fan too. I’ve got too many favorites to list, but Live Wire was one of the first to grab my attention when they first came out. Kickstart My Heart is a great song too. Love them Tommy Lee drums and that Nikki Sixx windmill-arm bass thumpin’!

I sat next to Gene Simmons on a flight from LA to Sydney about 10 or 12 years ago. Very pleasent person who took the time to speak to anyone in first class who wantedto talk.

nighttrain2012, I know what you mean about the loudness. I've been to a few concerts and back in the 80's was suppose to go see AC/DC, but couldn't. The ear doctor told me I'd already lost hearing in both ears. Wish I had gone anyway, and just used ear plugs.
