Save City sneak peek for this week

Posted March 15, 2012

There are some exciting things happening on the SaveCity front as of late!

For starters, SaveCity has gone mobile for all smart phones. You read that that right –MOBILE FOR ALL SMART PHONES. The days of having to print deals and keep up with the paper trail are over, my deal hunting friends, even if you are without the highly-coveted iPhone. Now, no matter which smart phone you possess, you can get the daily SaveCity deal, as well as all other active deals, by downloading the iPhone app from the app store, or simply visiting SaveCity.com, on your Android, Blackberry, iPhone, iPad, Windows or any other mobile device’s browser. Make sure your GPS is enabled and when you get to the place of business that is offering the deal that most appeals to you, go right ahead and snag those savings instantly.

Speaking of deals, I bet you’d like to know what’s on the SaveCity calendar, huh?

Until the stroke of midnight tonight, SaveCity.com, visitors can snag a deal from one of Raleigh’s top color salons, dsparada, for a free haircut with any full color service. Word to the wise: skip the store-bought color in a bottle and take dsparada up on this offer. That whole “DIY dye” never works out quite right…

On Friday, SaveCity takes us to Downtown Durham’s Golden Belt for 50 percent off sweet treats (frozen yogurt, fancy coffee drinks, or pastries) at café newcomer Blend. I’ve personally tried Blend’s varied offerings and you can bet I’ll be going back for more! (Luckily, frozen yogurt has half the calories of traditional ice cream. That means I get to enjoy twice as much, right?) The friendly folks at Blend are even going the extra mile to make this deal extra attractive. If you check in on FourSquare or Facebook Places while visiting, Blend will double your discount.

On Monday, indulge in a little guilt-free pampering with a shellac gel manicure (all the rage in salons across town these days) at 55 percent off from Beauty Lounge. Ah, Beauty Lounge. Those words just fit so nicely together.

Next Wednesday, get the kids active or even get yourself out of the house with 75 percent off your first horseback riding lesson at Ingleside Farm, with a bonus offer of 40 percent off a four-week lesson package after purchase of first riding lesson. Whether you're familiar with riding horses or have never been within five feet of one, Ingleside Farm is happy to accommodate. Giddy up!
