Beach Boys headed to Raleigh

Posted February 15, 2012

The Beach Boys are bringing their 50th Anniversary Tour to the Raleigh Amphitheater on April 29, concert promoter Live Nation announced on Wednesday.

This is the first tour in decades for Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks. (No word on if John Stamos will be joining them on drums. He toured with them in the 1990s for a bit. Fingers crossed for "Uncle Jessie" to make an appearance!)

Tickets, which start at $29.50, go on sale Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster, Live Nation,  the Hardeeā€™s Thickburger Box Office at Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion and the Progress Energy Center Box Office.

The tour announcement is fresh off the band's Grammy Awards performance on Sunday. They plan to release a new album as well.

"Who would have ever thought that Brian would be the last Wilson brother alive?'

Good point..I think Brian even said one time that he was surprised.

That little amph. downtown has had some fun acts- great place to see a show. Insead of tailgating in a dusty parking lot like Walnut Creek (not that i don't love me some Jimmy Buffet tailgating at the Creek) you get to go to a good restaurant, with AC, a bar with reasonable prices and then you can walk to the show, and if you want to go out after, you just walk to the next place- wonderful addition to downtown- hope this concert announcement is the first of many this year.
