Triangle Restaurant Week starts Monday

One of my favorite weeks of the year starts on Monday. It's Triangle Restaurant Week, when local places offer special three-course pix-fixe menus at discounted prices.

Menus range from $15 at lunch to between $20 and $30 for dinner.

The week always gives me an excuse to check out a new restaurant I have been meaning to try or head back to an old favorite. After I moved here, one of my first TRW visits was to The Big Easy in Raleigh. I quickly got hooked on their crawfish etouffee.

This year, Raleigh has the most restaurants participating with 44, followed by Durham with 21 and Chapel Hill with nine.

Check out a complete list of the restaurants participating here.

And make sure to make dinner reservations because some of these places fill up quick!

You can try The Big Easy but if you want REAL authentic New Orleans cuisine, nobody can top Battistella's. Superb gumbo, etoufee, po-boys, and other Southern-inspired creations. Check them out at Martin and Blount St and on Facebook....

Try the new Big Easy @ Harrison Pointe in Cary.
