Remember the movie Twister?
You know the one...BIll Paxton and Helen Hunt, chasing tornadoes, attempting to fly their tornado-predicting machine "Dorothy" into the heart of the funnel cloud.
I'd be lying if I said I hadn't fantasized about securing myself to a drain pipe and witnessing a tornado from the inside.
Entertaining? Sure....but not necessarily an accurate depiction of how storm chasing is executed.
15 years after "Twister's" release, Storm Chasers star Sean Casey and the researchers of VORTEX 2 have put together a heart-pounding film taking audiences on a quest to experience a tornado's power at point blank range.
If this trailer doesn't excite you, I don't know what will. Special bonus....it's narrated by Bill Paxton.
"Tornado Alley" opens tomorrow, October 29th, in the brand new WRAL 3D Theatre at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh.
Show times will be at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, you can catch it at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
You'll be able to purchase same day tickets at the museum box office. "Tornado Alley" will run through early 2012.
