Is it Sunday yet?

Brunch is becoming quite the popular tradition in the Triangle.  With new spots opening up every week and established restaurants completely retooling their menus to please hungry crowds, waking up on the weekends has never felt so good.

Here are our five favorite brunch spots, in no particular order:

Guglhupf Bakery & Patisserie (Durham): Two words...Eggs Arnold.  This twist on the classic benedict comes with spinach, artichoke and tomato topped with poached eggs & hollandaise served on brioche with seasonal fruit.  This and the grilled Nutella sandwich are two reasons to put Guglhupf on the must-visit list.
Iris, at the North Carolina Museum of Art (Raleigh): A hidden gem located in the newly constructed wing of the NCMA. The service, modern ambiance and menu are all simply amazing. The crab cake benedict is to die for!
Poole's Diner (Raleigh): Famed chef Ashley Christensen never disappoints.  By sourcing only fresh, local ingredients Ashely and company are constantly changing the menu to keep your taste buds on edge.  If there's a line, wait, trust us.
Capital Club 16 (Raleigh): With entrees like Salmon Norwegian Benedict and French Toast topped with Gentleman Jack maple syrup it’s no wonder Capital Club 16 has created a cult-like following. Executive Chef Jake Wolf has compiled a can’t-go-wrong brunch menu complimented by a cocktail list typically reserved for New York-style speakeasies.  Is it noon yet?
Watt's Grocery (Durham): Watts is committed to local foods - many of which are raised, caught, smoked, pickled or cured within a two-hour radius.  We recommend Bill Neal's shrimp and grits or the farmer's scramble with three eggs, roasted peppers, arugula, and goat cheese.
There you have it.  We know there are so many great brunch spots in the area so tell us, what's your favorite?
