Sneak Peek: Burlesque-inspired Grace changing the game on Glenwood

Viva la cocktail!

In just a few short weeks Grace, previously to be named Coco's, will open its doors on Glenwood Avenue in the space previously occupied by Trim Nightclub.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised, bordering on shocked, when I walked in this week to the amazing amount of work accomplished in its transformation.

At the helm is Matt Bettinger, one of the most creative bartenders in town, formerly of Foundation.

The menu will consist of beer, wine and of course, cocktails, both classic and those created by Bettinger.  He was nice enough to slip me one recipe:

Lost and Found

- Tequila

- Maraschino

- St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur

- Lime

- Campari

- Soda

I'll have three please!  The burlesque-inspired speakeasy is set to open the week after Halloween.

This has great potential for Raleigh. I'll be impressed if they adhere to a strict "No shots" policy and hopefully a classy dress code that is truly enforced.

Sweet. Ivan Kane's "Forty Deuce" (http://fortydeuce.com/) in Vegas at Mandalay was one of my short-lived favorites. Apparently, it is (or was) a traveling concept. that bounced from LA, to Vegas, to Chicago, etc., but now seems to be back in Hollywood. Glad to have something like it coming to Raleigh!
