The chatter about Revolution has been impossible to ignore.

Since opening on Main Street in Durham three years ago, Jim Anile and his wife Teresa have been operating arguably the best restaurant in town.

Last night I was fortunate enough to get a slice of culinary heaven.

Similar to its sister restaurant L'Uva Enoteca, Revolution boasts a modern decor while managing to maintain a sense of warmth throughout.

To the left you'll notice a large oval-shaped bar with room for 25 and a plush lounge overlooking Main Street.  The dining room falls off to the right behind the hostess stand.

After a round with Michael at the bar we were seated and greeted by our waitress Stephanie.  Stephanie was friendly, attentive and a huge help in assisting us choose items that would both tantalize our palates and the camera lens.

This was when things got fun.  Our line-up:

Cocktails: Agave in Bloom (tequila, elderflower liquor, citrus, cranberry), Dark & Stormy (Gossling's Dark Rum, Ginger Beer, Lime & mint)
Appetizers: Kobe Beef Tartare with crostini, Ahi "Poke" Tuna with cucumber, greens and wasabi caviar
Entrees: Dijon Encrusted Lamb Loin, Pan Seared Skate Wing with truffle butter and wild mushrooms
Desserts:  Cinnamon Cardamom Cake, Pumpkin Cake

It's rare to bat 1.000 when you order cocktails, appetizers, entrees and dessert, but literally everything that was presented to us was simply amazing.  Every dish was well-balanced, flavor-packed and yes, because you were wondering, as good as it looks in the pictures.

With entree selections coming from the "second mortgage" category, this isn't your everyday stop but Revolution is hard to beat for your next special occasion.
