The Diner relaunches with Chef Corey Palakovich at the helm

Usually filled with Glenwood South clubgoers looking for a late night greasy spoon, I never could have imagined it would be transformed into what I saw Wednesday night.

9 of the last 10 times I saw the inside of The Diner was between the hours of 2 and 3 a.m.

Usually filled with Glenwood South clubgoers looking for a late night greasy spoon, I never could have imagined it would be transformed into what I saw Wednesday night.

Anchored by former Raleigh Times Executive Chef Corey Palakovich, The Diner has taken on a cool, contemporary vibe, adding a comfortable bar area and a complete menu makeover.

While some breakfast staples remain, new items such as the pork belly appetizer, huevos rancheros and my favorite, chicken & waffles, take The Diner's cuisine to a whole new level.  The best part...it's extremely affordable with hardly anything on the menu over $10.

For the money, I'd say it's arguably the best value on Glenwood Avenue.  Chef Corey has yet again created a fantastic menu and I highly recommend stopping by for lunch or dinner on your next trip down Glenwood Avenue South.
