Burgers are to chocolate as Seth Gross is to Willy Wonka.
Having been born the son of 2 restaurant owners i can usually tell immediately if a new concept is going to take off. It all starts at the top.
Seth Gross, owner of Bull CIty Burger and Brewery, is one of the nicest, most intelligent restaurateurs I have ever met and his hard work and due diligence are paying off.
The burgers are juicy, the beer is delicious and ever-changing, the ambiance is relaxing and the commitment to local products is astounding.
Seth and his team grind their burgers daily, use recycled materials in their construction (tables and taphandles are made from NC wood) and make almost everything in-house. This includes sauerkraut, all-beef hot dogs, and buns. Oh yeah, they also pickle their own pickles. Seriously, who does that?
It's been a long time since I've seen such attention to detail and Seth's passion for his product is contagious. Next time you're in Durham I highly recommend stopping in for a bite and a brew.
Seth, a sincere congratulations and thank you. I cannot wait until my next Bull City adventure.
Be sure to check out the picture gallery above from my Saturday afternoon feast. Warning: Do not view hungry.
