Coats for the Children donors get thank-you gifts

Coats for the Children

WRAL-TV will air a telethon on Dec. 14, 2013 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. to raise money for the Coats for the Children campaign. ALL donors will receive a booklet of coupons from Jiffy Lube worth $150 total. Those who give at designated times or amounts are eligible for additional thank-you gifts from our sponsors.

 

6 A.M. HOUR

In the 6 a.m. hour, the first five callers to pledge $75 will receive a family 4-pack to Hill Ridge Farms’ Festival of Lights which includes a hayride.  

Tune in for an opportunity to pair your pledge to a gift of Bill Leslie’s ‘A Midnight Clear - Christmas in Mitford’ CD, autographed by Bill! 

Just after 6:30 a.m., a caller who pledges $400 will receive a ‘behind-the-scenes’ WRAL WeatherCenter tour with meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner and an invitation to watch the noon newscast live.

Another $400 pledge will earn a caller a family 4-pack to see Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Auditorium inside Raleigh's Progress Energy Center.

 

7 A.M. HOUR

During the 7 a.m. hour, one caller to pledge $250 will receive a family 4-pack to Ira David Wood’s 'A Christmas Carol' Sunday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Durham Performing Arts Center.

 

8 A. M. HOUR

Two callers to pledge $200 during the 8 a.m. hour will get a family 4-pack to the World’s Toughest Rodeo, Saturday, Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at PNC Arena in Raleigh.

During the 8 a.m. hour, we'll have more family 4-packs for the Nutcracker performance on Dec. 20.

One $300 pledge during the 8 a.m. hour will earn a Ray Price Harley Davidson ‘Riders Edge’ Academy of Motorcycling package. The Riders Edge New Rider Course includes 25 hours of instruction, both in the classroom and on a controlled practice range. Upon graduation from the course, you’ll receive a Motorcycle Safety Foundation card which will help you get your motorcycle license in North Carolina.

 

9 A.M. HOUR

Around 9 a.m., two callers who pledge $100  will receive a family 4-pack of tickets to see Broadway Series South’s fun, family show "Scooby Doo Live Musical Mysteries" on Friday, Jan. 25 at Progress Energy Center.

At the same time, one caller with a $200 pledge will get a family 4-pack to see the Harlem Globetrotters in March at PNC Arena.

 

10 A.M. HOUR

In the 10 a.m. hour, the first caller to pledge $400 receives an in-studio experience for two with Bill & Lynda In The Morning, plus a station tour and two MIX 101.5 Prize Packs.

 

12 P.M. HOUR

During the Noon News, David Crabtree, Brian Shrader and Lisa Prince will be among those manning the phones. The first caller to pledge $400 will get to meet and greet WRAL’s Local Dish team, tour the WRAL Studios with Brian  and sample Lisa’s latest dish!

Later in the noon hour, one caller with a $400 pledge will get another one of those family 4-packs to the Nutcracker. 

 

1 P.M. HOUR

Just before 1 p.m., one caller to pledge $150 will get a family 4-pack to Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, coming in February to PNC Arena.

During the 1 o'clock hour, Santa Claus and Wool E. Bull will join those answering the phones.

The first five callers to pledge $100 after 1 p.m. will receive Bill Leslie’s ‘A Midnight Clear - Christmas in Mitford’ CD, signed by Bill.

The first five callers to pledge $75 after 1 p.m. will get a family 4-pack to Hill Ridge Farms’ Festival of Lights, including a hayride.

One caller to pledge $150 during the 1 o'clock hour will get tickets to see Olivia Newton John at the DPAC on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

One caller with a $500 pledge will pair a family 4-pack to see Carolina Ballet’s Nutcracker Dec. 29 at the DPAC with a $100 gift certificate to any restaurant on the American Tobacco campus in Durham.

 

5 P.M. HOUR

The gifts resume in the 5 p.m. hour, when the first person to pledge $200 receives NC Symphony tickets to ‘Vienna with a Twist,’ a New Year’s Eve concert at Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh. The symphony will whisk you into 2013 with legendary jazz and Big Band classics by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and more. 

Later in the 5 o'clock hour, one caller to pledge $250 will get a pair of tickets to Lord of the Dance on Sunday, March 10 at DPAC.

 

6 P.M. HOUR

After 6 p.m., the first caller with a $400 pledge receives a ‘behind-the-scenes’ WRAL WeatherCenter tour with meteorologist Mike Maze and the opportunity to watch a live newscast.
 

7 P.M. HOUR

During the 7 p.m. hour, the first caller to pledge $400 receives a ‘behind-the-scenes’ WRAL WeatherCenter tour with Chief Meteorologist Greg Fishel and the chance to watch a live newscast.

Later in the hour, that same pledge will earn one lucky caller a station tour with WRAL’s Debra Morgan and the chance to watch a live newscast.

During the 7 p.m. hour, one caller to pledge $200 receives a pair of tickets to see Whoopi Goldberg at the DPAC Friday, Jan. 25.

Two callers to pledge $300 will receive a Durham Bulls VIP package which includes tickets for four people to a 2013 Bulls game; pre-game behind-the-scenes ball park tour & field access; parking pass; box seats behind home plate; dinner passes to the Bulls’ MVP club, plus a $25 concession food credit; Bulls caps and T-shirts for four!
