Some scientists used a model to figure out how long it would take someone to travel to the nearest major city (population of at least 50,000).  Here's a slideshow of some of their findings.

The most remote place on Earth: A spot on the Tibetan plateau.  It would take you three weeks to reach a big city.

    mmmm, I think maybe Wilson NC is the most remote place on earth.
