Crystal Bowersox may have been one of the best singers on last night's "American Idol," but I don't think she can win without undergoing a makeover. Her dreadlocks just distract me too much.
Here are my picks for the best and worst last night:
Best:
Crystal Bowersox - After reportedly suffering complications from Type 1 diabetes, she wowed the judges and me. She can sing, no doubt.
Katelyn Epperly - I really liked her rendition of "The Scientist." It was great to see her tackle something different. I hope she continues to do songs like this.
In the middle:
Siobhan Magnus - I agree with Simon - She is strange. But she can sing. However, her version of "Think" was just a little all over the place for me, dawg.
Paige Miles - This girl can sing! She needed to be singing "Think" instead of Siobhan. I hope she stays around another week, so we can see her really grow. Her version of Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" was an odd choice, but I like her anyway.
Lilly Scott - Am I the only person who just doesn't get her? The judges love her, but I can't force myself to like her. Maybe it's the hair...
Katie Stevens - Cute song, but she needs to do something different. The judges keep slamming her for not being young enough. I think they want her to sing some Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift stuff. That isn't her and she shouldn't try to change for the judges.
Lacey Brown - Cute hair! Good voice. Forgettable performance.
In danger of going home:
Didi Benami - I really like her and I hate to put her at the bottom but her version of "Lean on Me" was just that bad.
Haeley Vaughn - The good news: She sang "The Climb" better than Miley Cyrus. The bad news: Miley Cyrus isn't the best signer in the world. Poor Haeley, I like her, but she just hurts my ears too much.
Michelle Delamor - From that odd wedding dress outfit to her poor song choice, Michelle is in danger tonight. Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" is never a good choice.

Besides, a few of the past AI winners haven't done so much, some of the "losers" have done quite well. It's not just the teen boppers that make all the final decisions after all....the rest of us do have spending power regardless of what ad execs seem to think.

blah, blah, blah.. I don't understand why people who don't watch it hate it so much. Seems like you love it or hate it...no in between.

maybe its the idea ... that it gives a undiscovered talent a chance to make it ... when they otherwise would go their whole lives and never be given that break.
and Idol has turned out some pretty big talents ... and a right many from the good ole state of North Carolina!
I don't watch like I did in the beginning ... all the behind the scenes drama turns me off ... I don't look for idol to go many more seasons ... but I am sure there is yet another talent show waiting in the wings to take it's place.
and I like the history and discovery channel too ...
