Idol: Katy Perry should replace Kara

I was watching "American Idol" last night and I can't get over how great a judge Katy Perry was. She seemed to actually take the job seriously, unlike Avril Lavigne, who just sat there giggling with that stupid hoodie on her head.

Katy wasn't afraid to tell Kara that she made no sense. Finally! I have been dying for someone to do that!

Sometimes, Kara seems to be talking just to hear herself talk. I think the contestants need an actual judge, not someone who is trying to make a name for themselves by coming up with snappy things to say. (Though Katy had the comment of the night when she threatened to pour her Coke on Kara.)

Back to Katy though - She held her own on the panel and gave constructive criticism to the contestants.

So what did you think of Katy and Avril?

And what about the contestants? So far, I am rooting for John Park, Christopher “Chris” Golightly and Tyler Graddy.

My husband hates this show but loved Katy Perry. She held her own against all 3 of them. Loved her. My favorite so far was the guy last night who was on stage with Fantasia in NY. He was fantastic.

Haven't seen any talent that blows me away yet. As far as the judges- good ridence to Paula. I wish she had taken Kara with her. I'm waiting for the sparks to fly when Ellen gets in the judge's seat. I think she may steal a little of Simon's thunder. The only problem with Ellen, and I like her, is that I'm afraid she's going to feel like she has to be "on" all the time, as a comedian. We'll see.

Avril is a joke. I did like Katy Perry though, especially when she told Kara that this wasn't an audition for a lifetime movie, it's a singing competition. In my opinion Kara is trying to be like Paula bc she wasn't as caring about ppl last year. Sorry Kara you're no Paula. I can't even say your washed up bc no one even knew you existed until last season. I think for giggles they should have made "bikini girl" a guest judge just to tick off kara.

what was with that clown in the devil costume. Im not much of a judge except or fan of the show but How Stupid?

Tired, tired, tired of hearing about this show.

I thought Katy and Avril were both bogus judges. Shania Twain was the best guest judge. But then again, I tend toward the who cares bandwagon. The show is past it.

Katy and Avril are you typical no talent spoiled brats. Kara is terrific. Avril and that stupid devil costume was laughable.

I think Katy Perry was rude and obnoxious and made Simon look like a nice guy!

Agreed. Who cares. I will say though that Kay Perry is not a good role model for any child.
