What's your favorite scary movie?

Judging by "Paranormal Activity" raking in millions at the box office this weekend, scary movies are still in style.

I've never been a huge fan of them. To tell you the truth, "Snow White" scared me as a child. It was that witch with those big scary eyes!

Since then, I've only seen a few movies that have frightened me.

The scariest was "The Ring."

Let me give you the background information: At the time, I slept with a white noise machine at night and used to always go to sleep with the TV on. Anyone who saw that movie can understand why those points are important.

The film was scary, but after I saw it some weird things happened to me.

About 12 hours later my phone rang while I was in the shower. By the time I got to the phone the person had hung up, but the number showed up scrambled with odd symbols on the caller ID. I couldn't read it. Apparently the phone's battery was dying, but it was a weird coincidence since a phone call happens in the movie.

And exactly seven days later, around the same time I watched the movie, the power kept going off at the radio station I worked at. When the power came back, on the cable was out so all the TVs at the station had that "snow" on it. Creepy!

So what is your favorite scary movie?

The Blair Witch Project - the ending freaked me out.....

"Of Unknown Origin" with Peter Weller (Robocop) vs. a giant rat in his house. I was really young at the time, and it scared me so badly they I kept my feet off the floor and on the couch until my parents came home later that night.

Night if the living dead. Creepy!!

I sat through "The Exorcist" as a teenager(the boyfriend insisted we go!) and I felt my bed move for 2 weeks! I hated that movie and all the "Jaws" movies! My sons have watched them and laugh but I still cant get into the real scary stuff. Halloween movies - hands down my fav is "Hocus Pocus" with Bette Midler. She is a riot!!! And I will always love Gene Wilder in "Young Frankenstein" - he and Peter Boyle were both great! Loved "Love at First Bite" too! Yep, I love the funny stuff! I'll leave the really scary stuff to the youngins!lol

Here is a very scary movie title: "Re-elect Bev Perdue, 2012!" Now that would be a scary one! :>))

Halloween 1 & 2

Christine.

Not for frieght, but the great car

Although strictly speaking it's a science fiction movie, Alien has to be the scariest movie I have ever seen. The suspense, the isolation, Ian Holms depiction of the android Ash .... It was all just so creepy, with just enough gore to entice folks who go solely for that element of these movies.

John Carpenter's "The Thing". Set in Anartica

The uncut original Frankenstein. They later cut out the more disturbing scenes. If you have never seen the uncut scene with the little girl ... wow. Karloff's subtle genius in the character is chilling. Will have to go along with the first two Halloween movies. I even have that theme as a ringtone.
